The 4 star Cedar Court Hotel is situated in the heart of Harrogate, and overlooks 200 acres of the pristine Stray parkland, making it ideal for a tranquil break away. With everyone safely on board we make our way northwards, making a refreshment and comfort stop en-route to Harrogate. You will have free time before going to the hotel were you will be greeted with tea/coffee on arrival allowing you time to relax before your evening meal.
A morning coach journey to Pickering, boarding the Heritage train on North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a one way nostalgic trip through some ever changing moorland scenery to Whitby. This beautiful seaside town has a busy harbour with pleasure boats taking you for a sea trip, a jumble of medieval streets or visit the Abbey climbing its 199 steps to the top for a panoramic view or sample some award winning fish & chips. The return journey back to Harrogate by coach will pass through North Yorkshire Moors National Park.
Calling at the Market Town of Knaresborough where its stalls fill the market place opened on Wednesdays by the Town Crier, the stalls offering tasty produce, plants and flowers. The town once had a royal castle, explore the pretty side streets full of quirky little shops, cafes and tea rooms and see the magnificent Viaduct. Followed by a scenic route to the Cathedral City of Ripon steeped in history home to magnificent historic buildings and long-observed traditions.
A scenic sightseeing tour throughout the Yorkshire Dales, an upland area of the Pennines, it includes some of the finest limestone scenery in the U.K. Each valley or dale has its own distinct character, set against expansive moorland tops. Making appropriate stops throughout the day, returning back to Harrogateby mid- afternoon, giving you more free time in this Victorian Spa Town.
After breakfast we start making the homeward journey back calling at the Roman city of York, within its ancient walls and twisting atmospheric streets. Arriving back in Lincolnshire by late afternoon.
